Jolt Respects Your Privacy
Jolt Software, Inc., is a company in the technology industry that provides software, hardware, technology, and support and other services to customers. Jolt has identified, understands, and manages the applicable legislation, regulations, and contractual obligations outlined by GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other domestic and international privacy standards.
This Privacy Policy explains how Jolt Software, Inc. collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website, products, and services (collectively, the ‘Site’), as well as the rights in determining what we do with the information collected from users (each individually a “User” or collectively “Users”) of the jolt.com website, connected digital devices and related products and services (collectively the “Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Jolt Software, Inc. Our intent is to comply with applicable U.S. privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), to protect your personal information.
If Jolt Software, Inc., makes a change, or plans to make a change, to the manner in which processes PII, a data protection impact assessment will be conducted. If the change is undertaken, Users will be notified of necessary adjustments to the Privacy Policy in a manner described herein.
Jolt Software, Inc. is responsible for the processing of your personal information when you interact with our website, services and products (“Sites and Services”) as well as mobile applications.
This Privacy Notice also covers our collection, use and disclosure of personal information that we collect through our service. The policy applies to both customers and non-customers (e.g., visitors providing info via referrals). The use of information collected through our service is limited to the purpose of providing the service for which our client has engaged Jolt Software, Inc.
Personal Information
We may collect personal information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit, register, place an order, fill out a form, or perform any other action in connection with activities, services, features or resources we make available through our Site.
Jolt collects personal information in the following categories:
- Identifiers – Person first and last name and email address are collected to create user accounts on the Site and to process other business related transactions.
- Personal information – Work or cell phone number may be collected. Credit card information may be requested during the subscription renewal process. Jolt does not store credit card information. All credit card data is handled by our credit card processing provider Stripe. Health information and social security information is not collected.
This information is collected solely for the purpose of providing services related to the business. We do not collect Social Security numbers or other highly sensitive data unless explicitly required and consented to for a specific purpose. We will collect personal information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.
Other Users or Visitors: If users or visitors of our sites and services provide any of your personal information to us, we will use it only for the limited purpose for which it is provided, such as to send a link, make a referral, or provide you a discount, etc. We will not use your information for any other purposes, and you may unsubscribe at any time from within the communication you receive or by contacting us as described in this Privacy Notice.
Non-Personal Information
We collect technical details about your device or browsing (like browser type or IP address), which may be considered personal information under some laws, such as the CCPA. We may collect non-personal information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about the way Users connect to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.
While you visit or use our Sites and Services, certain information, including personal information, is collected about your use of the Sites and Services, as follows:
- Device and Usage Information: Information about your hardware and software, IP address, browser type and version, operating system, browsing history and page views, length of visit, referral/exiting sources, device identifiers such as Apple IDFA or Google Advertising ID, cookie identifiers, other pseudonymous identifiers, and information about the timing, frequency, and patterns of your usage.
- Location Information: We may collect information about your actual or non-precise physical location when you voluntarily tell us, or when you provide this information via sharing your device’s IP address or mobile device’s GPS, wi-fi, or cellular signal information. You may control, enable or disable the use of location-based services from within your device’s settings or mobile application’s permissions.
- Server log files: We automatically gather server log file information when you visit our websites. This includes IP address, browser type, referring and exit web pages, and your operating system.

Tracking Technologies
Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. Cookies are small files that help us remember your preferences or track how you use our Site. The user’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. We and our service providers use technologies on our sites and services to collect information that helps us improve the quality of our sites and services and the online experience of our visitors and users. Jolt Software, Inc. collects and uses User’s personal information for the following to operate and maintain our Site and to fulfill your requests. We keep your information only as long as needed for these purposes or as required by law.
- To Personalize User Experience – We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site so we can improve our products and services.
- To Improve our Site and Offerings – We continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you.
- To Improve Customer Service – Your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs.
- To Process Transactions – We may use the information Users provide about themselves when placing an order only to provide service to that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service.
- To Send Periodic Emails – The email address Users provide for order processing, will generally only be used to send them information and updates pertaining to their order. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, and/or other requests or questions. Users will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, they may do so by contacting us via our Site or by using the Unsubscribe link found in our emails.
How We Protect Your Information
The security and confidentiality of your personal information is very important to Jolt Software, Inc. We have implemented encryption, access controls, and other technical and organizational safeguards according to the Jolt Security Policy to appropriately protect your personal information against accidental, unauthorized, or unlawful access, use, loss, destruction or damage.
Still, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have questions about the security of your personal information, or if you have reason to believe that the personal information that we hold about you is no longer secure, please contact us immediately as described in this Privacy Policy. If a breach compromises your data, we’ll notify you as required by law.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We share your personal information according to this Privacy Policy, with your consent or as necessary to provide you the products or services you request, as well as to operate our business. The ways in which we share your personal information are set forth below. We do not sell your personal information as traditionally understood. However, if any sharing with third parties qualifies as a ‘sale’ under a law, you can opt-out by contacting us at support@jolt.com. We may disclose both personal information, as well as share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal information regarding visitors and Users, with our business partners, trusted affiliates, third party service providers, and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.
Types of third parties we may disclose your personal information to:
- Service Providers – (e.g., payment processors, IT support) We employ the service of a payment processor, which collects and processes payment information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your purchase. These services have access to personal information only to the extent that it is needed to perform the requested services and only if the third party has an appropriate commitment to protect personal information. In such cases, these companies must abide by our data privacy and security requirements, and are not allowed to use the PI they receive from us for any other purpose. Representative business processes that our service providers/vendors assist us with include: Network or cybersecurity monitoring and intrusion detection, Web or application development/management, payment processing, and providing customer service. We will notify affected users in a manner outlined in this document if a change to a third party service provider related to handling personal information occurs.
- Analytics partners – (e.g., to measure Site usage) We employ third party analytics vendors which may set and access their own cookies, pixel tags, and other similar technologies on our Site, they may also collect or have access to information about you which they may collect over time and across different websites, to provide us with aggregate information.
- Legal Authorities – (e.g., to comply with law) In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We may also disclose your personal information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request. If any legally binding requests for disclosure of your PII are made to Jolt, we will notify affected users according to contractual requirements within 30 days from the request. Non-legally binding requests for disclosure of PII will be rejected. We retain detailed records of disclosures to include: (a) the information disclosed; (b) recipient; (c) time of disclosure; and (d) any other relevant detail. We also retain records of lawful investigations and external audits disclosed to third parties, and include the source authority.
- Corporate Transactions – If Jolt Software, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, dissolution, sale of all or a portion of its assets, or other fundamental corporate transaction, we reserve the right to sell or transfer your information as part of the transaction. In such an event, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership, incompatible new uses of your personal information, and choices you may have regarding your personal information.
Jolt Software, Inc., is committed to using partners who hold privacy to the same high standard as we do. It is our policy to review third-party compliance periodically.

If you’re a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) regarding your personal information. This section explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you can manage your data.

Onward Transfers
In this Privacy Policy we describe the different types of third parties that we may disclose Users personal information to, and the purpose for which we choose to disclose such information. If we disclose Users personal information to a third party acting as a data controller or as an agent, we will comply with the requirements, and protect the personal information as provided in applicable data protection regulations. Jolt Software, Inc. will ensure that the data controller or agent will provide the same level of protection as required by applicable data protection regulations.
We may be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. In such cases, we will minimize any disclosure of personal information to that which is legally required.
Rectification, Choice, and Access
Jolt Software, Inc. respects your control over your information and, upon request, we will confirm whether we hold or are processing information that we have collected from you.
You also have the right to amend or update inaccurate or incomplete personal information, request deletion of your personal information, or request that we no longer use it. We may ask for proof of identity to process your request securely. Under certain circumstances we will not be able to fulfill your request, such as if it interferes with our regulatory obligations, affects legal matters, we cannot verify your identity, or it involves disproportionate cost or effort, but in any event we will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and provide you with an explanation. In order to make such a request, please contact us at support@jolt.com. When such a request is made, Jolt will inform third parties with whom personal data has been shared of any modification, withdrawal or objections pertaining to the shared data.
Users are free to change their personal information or cancel their account with us at any time. Users may use controls found within our application, or by contacting us using the information specified in this document to accomplish said task.
If we need to disclose your personal information for means other than that which is described in this document, or we disclose data to another processor or controller not previously identified. We will inform and allow reasonable time for Users to object to said disclosing of personal information.
Jolt contracts with third party service providers outside of the EU to store and securely transmit personal information. We acknowledge the right of EU and Swiss individuals to access their data pursuant to applicable data protection regulations. Users may request access to personal information stored within our systems as needed. Users can request said access by contacting us at: support@jolt.com.
Please note that for personal information about you that we have obtained or received for processing on behalf of a separate, unaffiliated entity–which determines the means and purposes of processing, all such requests should be made to that entity directly. We will honor and support any instructions they provide us with respect to your personal information. We’ll respond within 45 days, or sooner if possible.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Jolt Software, Inc. has the discretion to update this Privacy Policy at any time to make sure it complies with emerging legal requirements and best practices. When we do, we will revise the date of the last revision at the bottom of this page. If we propose to make any new data uses or sharing practices, we will notify you by means of a notice on this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of any modifications.
